August 29, 2018

Dear OLMC School Family,

The kids looked fantastic in their uniforms today!  I know some of you still don't have yours, or you only have one shirt.  Just have your child wear uniform bottoms with a plain polo until they arrive.  If you don't have a plain polo, we have some in our uniform room you can have.

As a reminder, the only skirt/jumper/skort option is plaid that can be purchased at J.C.  Penney online, Amazon, or French Toast.   name of the plaid is "blue/red".  There are no khaki or navy skirts or dresses.  All pants/shorts are dress style (no jean pockets) and must be khaki in color.  There is no navy blue option for bottoms at all.

I have attached the picture again here that shows the acceptable uniform pieces.  Thanks for your patience as we await our orders!  We are working on an affordable, local option for purchases now.

Peace and blessings,

Ms. Faye Myatt

August 17, 2018

Dear OLMC School Family,

Welcome back!  The first week has absolutely flown by.  We’ve had a lot of frustrations with getting uniforms, as I know many of you have.  We received ours yesterday, and I hope that you all have yours, too.  I have been talking with Sidelines here in town about providing some uniform polos and pullovers in the future.  I will let you know as soon as all that is finalized.

Monday will be the first uniform day.  Please review the new uniform guidelines in the Parent/Student Handbook.  If you do not have a uniform shirt your child can wear next week, please contact me.  Plain white oxford shirts may be worn any day in place of a polo with a logo.

We are still collecting plastic lids.  We stopped for a while, thinking we had enough for a bench, but we don’t!

If you are new and would like to be able to volunteer or work with our students in any capacity, you must take an Initial Child Protection class.  There is one next Monday, Aug. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church in Marion. Call to reserve your spot (993-3194).  If you have already completed the Initial Child Protection class, you must do your online renewal each year to remain compliant.

If you are not signed up for Kroger Community Rewards, please do so!  You simply link your red Kroger card online with our OLMC School Committee.  Our organization number is DP625.  A percentage of your purchases comes back to our school.

Finally, each family received a “free and reduced lunch” form in their family packet.  Please fill it out and return it to the office as soon as possible.  The more students we have on the program, the more money we receive in Title funds for our school.  No one will know if your child is on free or reduced lunch except for Pattie and me.  The students go through the lunch line the same as the other students.  The cafeteria workers don’t even know who is on the program.

Have a great weekend!

Peace and blessings,
Ms. Faye Myatt
